Jamshedpur: Five injured in clash over land dispute

Jamshedpur, August 1: Five members of a family were injured in a clash over land dispute in Sidhgora Gwala Basti on Monday.

Identified as Baban Yadav, Leelawati Devi, Rinki Devi, Ruby and Rohit, the victims were admitted to MGM Hospital.

Sources said the incident took place when Rohit’s mother threw cowdung on a vacant plot enar her house in Gwala Basti. Just then her neighbours JP Yadav, Sonu Yadav, Munna Yadav, Vishal, Vikas, Shyam and others allegedly assaulted her with lathi and injured her seriously. Rohit’s mother alleged that Yadav and others were trying to encroach the vacant land. The accused persons reportedly threatened to implicate the victim by using their influence in the police department, sources said.

The accused persons denied the allegations and accused Rohit, her mother and others of trying to implicate them.
