Jamshedpur, Feb 16: Ritika Tirkey, the first female assistant driver of the Vande Bharat Express in Indian Railways, was honoured in a ceremony organized by the Bahujan Karamchari Sangathan at the Tatanagar Railway Institute. Civil Defense Inspector Santosh Kumar was also recognized for his service.
The event was attended by senior railway officials, employees and public representatives from Potka and Jugsalai. Chief guest Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer Vinod Kumar, along with Dr. Raju Mahant, Regional Manager Abhishek Singal and Senior Coaching Depot Officer Rajesh Kumar Verma, presented Ritika and Santosh Kumar with mementos, bouquets and traditional ‘ang vastra’ as a token of appreciation.
Vinod Kumar urged railway employees to uphold honesty and dedication in their work, while Dr. Mahant assured better medical facilities for railway staff. A professor from NIT Adityapur encouraged students from marginalized communities to pursue higher education. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by SC-ST Divisional Convenor Vimal Rajak.
