Jamshedpur firing: Criminals fire near Court, Golmuri, challenging police in festive season

CCTV footage reveals same gang hand in both incidents

Lawyers want security tightened in Court premises after yet another firing 

Jamshedpur, March 27: Back-to-back firing incidents at Bhuiyandih and Golmuri created sensation in the steel city as criminals posed challenge to police during festive season of Ramnavami and Ramadan.

The firing took place at Gate No. 3 of Jamshedpur Court premises in Bhuiyandih under Sitaramdera police station and near Tinplate Roundabout under Golmuri police in a span of an hour.

In the first incident, the criminals opened fire targeting Manpreet murder accused Naveen Singh outside the court premises, but the bullet did not hit. Naveen ran inside the court premises in time, which saved his life. Criminals fired two rounds on Naveen Kumar Singh near Gate Number three of Jamshedpur court premises. Fortunately, the bullet hit his back, due to which he fell down.

The criminals fled towards Bhuiyandih after the incident. Surprisingly, the police personnel standing near the spot of firing remained mute spectator to the incident.

As soon as the information was received, Sitaramdera police station in-charge Akhilesh Mandal reached the spot and questioned Naveen.

Naveen told that today he had a court date in a case. After appearing in the court, he was going to his home by bike. Then suddenly a person who had his mouth tied outside gate number three started firing. However, while running away, Naveen fell on the ground. A security guard also narrowly escaped in the firing.

Naveen Singh is an accused in the Manpreet Singh murder case in Sidhgora. On June 8, criminals shot dead Manpreet Singh after entering inside his house in Agrico, Sidhgora. After this incident, Naveen surrendered in the court. At present the police are investigating the matter.

Golmuri

In the second incident, the criminals opened fire in broad daylight near Golmuri Tinplate roundabout and kept on walking. Criminals who came in number of five carried out the incident. Police have recovered three empty cartridges from the spot. The police have started investigating the matter and are scanning the CCTV footage installed nearby.

Golmuri police station in-charge Rajeev Ranjan said that five criminals had fired in the air. After executing the incident, all fled towards Old Cable Basti. At present the culprits are being identified.

At the same time, there was chaos in the court premises due to the incident. Lawyers have questioned the security of the court regarding the incident. The incident has been captured in CCTV. Earlier, Upendra Singh was shot dead on November 30, 2016 in the court premises.

Naveen Kumar Singh an accused in the murder case of Manpreet Singh had got bail a few days back and had come to appear in court on Monday. During that time the criminals fired at him. Havaldar Naval Kishore Singh said that the incident took place outside the gate. The one who was shot ran into the court premises. It is worth mentioning that when Manpreet Singh had reached Agrico house on his return from court appearance, the criminals had barged into the house and killed him.

A few days ago, gangster Akhiledh Singh’s henchman Amit was arrested with a pistol in the court premises.

Same gang seen in both incidents 

Jamshedpur, March 27: The Jamshedpur police claim to have identified the culprits in the case of firing outside the Jamshedpur Court at Sitaramdera. The culprit has been identified in the CCTV. This criminal is Vicky Singh. He was jailed in many cases and now he has come back from jail after getting bail. It is told that those people have been seen in the CCTV that they are waiting for Naveen Singh to come. After the arrival of Naveen Singh, those people have taken the key of the car and after that Naveen Singh ran inside, from where all the criminals ran away after firing.

After that they ran away from there and went straight towards Golmuri, where they opened fire and ran away. It is said that about seven to eight people were seen riding in three vehicles.

Manpreet Singh’s brother also has a hand in this. On the basis of CCTV footage, the police is continuously chasing the criminals through surveillance. All these criminals are clearly visible in about five to seven videos. The vehicle numbers of all the people have also been shown in the CCTV.
