Chaibasa, March 27: Kolhan Commissioner and the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police of Kolhan range here on Monday convened a joint online meeting to review preparedness of the three districts for Ramnavami.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and police chiefs of East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan. The sub-divisional officers (SDOs), Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and officials of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Electricity and other government departments were also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the Commissioner sought updates from the DCs and SPs of the three districts regarding the law and order preparedness for Ramnavami. The DC of Seraikela Kharsawan Arava Rajkamal said peace committee meetings with the representatives of all Akhara committees of the district had been held. He said altogether three control rooms have been set up in the district, in which officers and employees have been appointed for monitoring in three shifts. On the day of the procession, the procession route will be monitored with the help of drone cameras, he said, adding further that temporary CCTV cameras are also being installed as per the requirement. The DC said that a close watch is being kept on social media as well. He said punitive action will also be taken against the admin of the concerned group and the concerned person for sending or sharing any kind of provocative message, video or photo.

East Singhbhum DC Vijaya Jadhav said that all peace committee meetings have been completed in the district. Apart from repairing pavers blocks laid on the side roads in the city, the drains are being cleaned, she said.
“At places where CCTV cameras are not present on the route of the procession, temporary CCTV cameras are being installed. Barricading is being done along the route of the procession as per the requirement, so that the traffic system remains smooth. A total of 15 drones will be monitored with the help of cameras. The trees are being trimmed wherever needed to prevent mishaps. Mobile medical units are also being made available at various places,” said the DC.
He told that the procession route is being jointly investigated by him and the Superintendent of Police, instructions have been given to remove any kind of bricks/stones etc. from the route. Investigation is being done by forming a team at sensitive places by the special branch. Drone cameras have been arranged in all the three subdivisions of the district. Along with the procession, the police force and the magistrate have been deputed.
The DCs were directed by the Divisional Commissioner to check the route of the marked procession. “The district administrations should check CCTV cameras on the route and install them on a temporary basis if needed. The work of barricading should be done on the procession route to prevent traffic jams.
The Divisional Commissioner directed all DCs to issue orders from their level that no office staff would leave the district headquarters from March 28 to March 31. On special circumstances, the staff will be granted leave only after the approval of the Deputy Commissioner, he said.
