Jamshedpur FC’s Heeranganba Seram retained in U17 National Team probables

Jamshedpur, August 18: Jamshedpur FC forward Heeranganba Seram has been retained in the U17 National Team probables list, following the recently concluded selection trials in Goa organized by the All India Football Federation.

The 16-year-old striker from Manipur, who has been a part of JFC’s youth setup for the past three years, had initially received a call-up to attend the selection camp in July. His strong showing during the trials has now earned him a continued place in the national camp, where he will remain under assessment ahead of two major international assignments.

The AIFF confirmed that Heeranganba will continue training with the U17 squad, with his retention depending on progress and performance. The probables will be prepared for the SAFF U17 Championship, scheduled to be held from September 15 to 27 in Sri Lanka, followed by the AFC U17 Asian Cup Qualifiers in Ahmedabad from November 22 to 30.

Heeranganba was Jamshedpur FC’s top scorer in the AIFF U17 Elite League earlier this year, netting 13 goals in as many matches to power the team to a runners-up finish. His consistency and eye for goal caught the attention of national selectors, leading to his opportunity at the camp.
