Jamshedpur FC youth players celebrate Teachers’ Day with surprise gestures

Jamshedpur, September 5: Jamshedpur FC’s youth team players marked Teachers’ Day in a unique way, surprising coaches, academy staff, and club employees with heartfelt tokens of appreciation at the JRD Tata Sports Complex and the Tata Football Academy. The young footballers arrived with custom-made greeting cards featuring their photos and a short note about themselves, along with chocolates and cupcakes, bringing smiles to the faces of their mentors.

The celebration was a surprise visit planned by the players, who went around personally handing over the cards and sweets to JFC employees and administrative staff, before heading into TFA to honour their coaches and support staff. The gesture left the coaches moved, as the players expressed gratitude for their guidance and role in shaping their journeys, both on and off the pitch.

Alvin Khyriem, one of the youth team players, said, “We just wanted to say thank you in our own way. Our coaches and the JFC staff do so much for us every single day, and this was a small gesture from us to show our respect and love for them.”

Adding to the festivities, the youth players took part in a special friendly football match against their coaches at the JRD ground, symbolising the bond of respect and learning between the two sides. The contest was played in great spirit, with plenty of laughter and camaraderie, reflecting the essence of Teachers’ Day.

Kundan Chandra, Head of Youth Development at Jamshedpur FC, remarked, “It was a wonderful moment to see the boys take the initiative to honour their coaches and staff. The friendly match was the perfect way to celebrate Teachers’ Day full of fun, learning, and the bond that keeps us all connected through football.”
