Jamshedpur FC Stars Encourage Citizens to Participate in Tata Steel Half Marathon

Jamshedpur, November 7: As the city gears up for the Tata Steel Dil Se Daudo Half Marathon scheduled on November 30, Jamshedpur FC players and coaching staff have called on citizens to lace up their running shoes and be part of the city’s biggest fitness celebration.

Midfielder Pronay Halder, defender Pratik Chaudhari, and Head Coach Steven Dias shared messages of encouragement, highlighting the importance of health, unity, and community spirit through sport.

“Running is one of the simplest ways to stay fit and strong,” said Pronay Halder. “As athletes, we know how much discipline and positivity physical activity brings. I urge everyone in Jamshedpur to take this opportunity and challenge themselves.”

For senior defender Pratik Chaudhari, the event represents more than just fitness. “The Dil Se Daudo Half Marathon is about community. It’s about people coming together, pushing their limits, and celebrating the spirit of Jamshedpur. Whether you’re running 5 km or 21 km, what matters is being part of something that unites the city,” he said.

Head Coach Steven Dias also encouraged participation, connecting it with the values of determination and perseverance that sport teaches. “Marathons remind us that success is about consistency and belief,” Dias remarked. “Just like football, it’s not about how fast you start but how strong you finish. I hope to see people of all ages out there running with pride for our city.”

In 2024, the marathon witnessed an impressive 4,821 participants from 18 states, reflecting its growing popularity across India. This year, participation is expected to cross 5,500 runners, underscoring the city’s strong enthusiasm for health and wellness.

The Half Marathon (21.097 km), introduced for the first time in 2024, saw an encouraging turnout of nearly 500 runners. Building on that momentum, the 2025 edition anticipates even greater participation in this challenging and prestigious category.

The total prize money for 2025 stands at ₹9.18 lakh, reaffirming Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting fitness and competitive spirit among participants. The marathon route will remain unchanged across all categories, ensuring a familiar, well-managed, and safe experience for runners.

Registrations are now open, and interested participants can sign up through the official website, www.tatasteelruns.com.
