Jamshedpur, Sept 28: In a keenly contested practice encounter Jamshedpur FC beat two times ISL champions and Abhishek Bachchan owned Chennaiyin FC by 4 goals to 3. In spite of the drizzle fans thronged the Furnace (JRD Tata Complex) and cheered lustily for the home team.

JFC took the lead as early as the 12th minute when Passi converted a cross and put in a beautiful shot that left the Chennaiyin goalkeeper stranded. But Andre Schembri of CFC restored parity in the 20th minute when his rasping shot found the Jamshedpur FC net.

He repeated the feat again in the 36th minute when, against the run of play he dribbled through the defense cordon to achieve the second success for the team and take the lead. JFC counter attacked and in the 38th minute ace striker CK Vineeth equalized the score at two all. When it was approaching lemon time, the magic boots of Vineeth came into play and the home teams third goal came in the 45 th minute. At half time Jamshedpur led three goals to two.

After the change of ends, the home team mounted pressure on Chennaiyin FC and the moves soon paid off as Aniket Yadav set the adrenalin flowing by scoring the teams 4th goal in the 49th minute. However Nerijus reduced the margin by placing a beauty into the far corner of the net in the 74th minute.

Thereafter it was an exchange of raids in both bastions. At the final whistle, a sense of euphoria prevailed among the home supporters who had braved the inclement weather and throng the stadium.
