Jamshedpur, July 12: A one-day conference was organized at Jadugoda Murmu Complex on the initiative of Khela Ram Murmu, Director Tribal Agriculture Society Ltd of Jadugoda wherein farmers were urged to go in for fruit farming along with paddy crops as a means to enhance their economic status.
Khela Ram Murmu gave tips on means to increase their earnings apart from cultivation of paddy. Farmers from various blocks attended the conference. Tips were provided on growing fruit trees apart from paddy cultivation. They were suggested to go in for fish farming and pig rearing to enhance their income and living standards.
Khela ram Murmu informed the farmers that there were plans to provide three lakh drumstick tree saplings along with one lakh saplings of guava trees and another lakh of different varieties of lemon trees. These, he said, would, apart from strengthening their economic status would also add to environmental protection. Among those present during the one day conference included Zila Parishad member Parvati Munda, Hemant Munda and Subhash Singh.
