Jamshedpur: Family members of ‘abducted’ contractor meet SSP, stage dharna

Jamshedpur, December 21: Even after ten days, the police could not find any clue of contractor Sunil Pandey, a resident of Shankosai road number three under Mango police station who has gone missing.

Family members who are going restless due to the delay by the police reached district police headquarters on Wednesday with the wife, daughters of the missing persons and few women of the locality to meet East Singhbhum SSP Prabhat Kumar.

On not getting any satisfactory answer from the administration, the relatives created a ruckus, after which the women sat on a dharna at the main entrance of the DC office. Sunil Pandey’s daughter Jyoti told that her father was abducted on December 12 last.

She alleged that information has been given to the police. But Ulidih police is not taking any action. She also alleged that she had met the SSP twice and informed about the matter. But no action was taken. She that her father only earning person in the house. Jyoti Pandey said that if no action is taken till December 25, then the family members who have reached the brink of starvation will be forced to commit suicide.

The women of the locality told that in serious cases like kidnapping, the police are sitting on their hands. The people of the locality are with their relatives. It may be known that 10 days back he was abducted in front of his under construction house in Govindpur. After the family members came to know about this, an FIR was registered in Ulidih police station, but till now no success has been achieved in their case.

Central President of Brahmin Shakti Sangh, Pawan Pandey told that after the incident, there was a call for ransom initially, but since the matter came in the media, the phone calls stopped. He told that this incident of kidnapping is a matter of utmost concern for the society, but more than that it is an open challenge by the kidnappers to the district administration.

“The morale of the criminals has increased that they are kidnapping a person in broad daylight. The administration needs to show promptness so that the atmosphere of fear generated among the common people in the district can be ended and a sense of security can be maintained in the mind of the common man,” said Pandey.
