Jamshedpur: EVMs votes to be counted on 96 tables, postal ballots on 42 tables and ETPBS votes on 7 tables

Jamshedpur: With the anticipation of the upcoming vote counting day on June 4, meticulous arrangements have been put in place by the district administration. The process of randomization of counting personnel was conducted assembly-wise under the supervision of General Observer  Killu Shiv Kumar Naidu, Counting Observer  Sanjay Kumar Dhattarwal, and District Election Officer  Ananya Mittal at the Collectorate.

Deputy Development Commissioner  Manish Kumar and all Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) were also present during the randomization process. It was decided that EVM votes would be counted on 96 tables, postal ballots on 42 tables, and Electronic Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) votes on 7 tables.

Ananya Mittal, the District Election Officer, outlined the sequence of events for the vote counting day. The counting will commence at 8 am, starting with the tallying of postal ballots and ETPBS votes. Subsequently, at 8:30 am, the counting of EVM votes will commence.

Breaking down the counting process further, it was revealed that each assembly constituency will have a designated number of rounds and tables for counting. For instance, for Baharagora (Assembly Constituency 44), there will be 19 rounds conducted across 14 tables, while for Ghatshila (Assembly Constituency 45), 20 rounds will take place on 15 tables. Similar arrangements have been made for other assembly constituencies.

The allocation of counting personnel has been done in strict adherence to the guidelines provided by the Election Commission of India.  Mittal assured all candidates of a transparent and fair counting process, affirming that the instructions of the Election Commission have been meticulously followed.

For the counting of EVM votes on 96 tables, each table will be manned by a supervisor, a counting assistant, a micro observer, and a fourth-class employee. Similarly, for counting postal ballots and ETPBS votes, the requisite number of personnel has been assigned to each table.
