Jamshedpur, July 25: Educator, humanitarian and one who gave her all for the pursuit of education, Lalita Sareen passed away on Thursday, July 25. Lalita Sareen, a force like no other, had been a lifelong educator devoted to meet the needs of children and youth. As a principal, teacher, counsellor, and artist, she had dedicated over half a century to creating, caring and inclusive school communities.

Lalita Sareen was the Founder Principal of Jamshedpur Public School, giving it her all to make it one of the best schools of Jamshedpur. After her retirement, she did not take a back seat but joined Kavyapta Global School where she had been a part of the school for over 15 years as the Initiative Director. She shaped the school by contributing her infinite wisdom and experience.
Principal of Kavyapta Global School, Kabita Agrawal, stated, “She will always stay in our initiatives, her last very current piece she handed me over was on 21st of July, the School Song. This will echo in our walls and co-create the energy she was profoundly filled with. This year we published the series of Mending Minds, the beautiful stories written by her to instill the life skills and values in young minds. These short stories have deep reflections and a lasting impact on the readers, just adorable making you fall in love with each story crafted by her.”
She contributed to English & Hindi theatre and many award-winning community plays. She supported the development of sports by leading civic organizations like the Bihar Women’s Cricket Association and as the Secretary of the Jamshedpur Old Girls & Guys Association (JOGGA). Adept in music, dance and literature, she wrote for several magazines and publications.
Lalita Sareen was an institution builder who believed that what one left behind was not engraved in stone monuments, but was woven into the lives of others.
