Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu has taken a proactive step to address the growing healthcare needs of residents in Birsanagar by writing to the Principal Secretary of the Department of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, urging the expansion of the Community Health Center (CHC) located in the area. The MLA’s letter outlines the urgent need for enhanced facilities to meet the increasing population and rising patient load in the region.
In her communication, Sahu pointed out that the existing infrastructure of the CHC is proving to be inadequate to handle the surge in patients. On a daily basis, hundreds of citizens rely on this health center for medical care, particularly in the areas of maternity services and emergency medical care. However, the current setup is strained and many patients are not receiving the timely treatment they require due to a lack of resources and infrastructure.
The MLA has requested the construction of additional facilities on the first floor of the Community Health Center. These proposed expansions include the creation of male and female wards, a labor room for safe deliveries, a waiting area for patients and their relatives, a nursing station, a medicine store and improvements to the overall infrastructure, including ramps and stairs for better accessibility. These enhancements are essential to accommodate the growing patient load and to ensure that the CHC is able to provide quality healthcare services round the clock, particularly to mothers and children.
