Public representatives focus on electricity, water problems and truant doctors
Jamshedpur: Civic amenities problems faced in different blocks of the East Singhbhum district was the focal point of discussion during district development coordination and monitoring committee (DISHA) at district headquarter.
The meeting chaired by Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and attended by all six MLAs falling in the district welcomed the newly elected zilla parishad president (Bari Murmu) and vice-president (Pankaj Sinha) as it was their first meeting and asked them to report problems faced in their area so that it can be resolved.
The public representatives raised issue of electricity, water and road related to their area. The official of the electricity department was instructed to replace the dilapidated electric poles and hanging wires and asked for proper electrification in Anganwadis, health sub-centres. Electricity department officials were also asked to install transformers and not take donations from villagers.
The MP also asked electricity officials that while visiting the blocks the concerned MLS, panchayat representatives and block level administrative officials should also be informed for better coordination.
JBVNL officials informed that at present six to seven transformers are being repaired every day by increasing the manpower to overcome the shortage of transformers, it was suggested to increase it to 10 per day to provide immediate relief to the power problem.
The JBVNL officials assured to replace the faulty transformer within seven days even in rural areas.
The MP also asked the deputy commissioner to publish phone numbers of all department officers and engineers at district headquarter so that masses can easily contact for their problems.
It was also suggested to shift the labour room situated on upper floor of the MGM Hospital to the ground floor of the hospital for convenience of the patients. There were complaints about truants doctors at sub health centres and the deputy commissioner instructed that payment would be deducted if doctors are not found on duty.
In some schools, instructions were given to the Engineer of Drinking Water and Sanitation Department to conduct deep boring for solving water problems.

MP Jamshedpur informed about the implementation of Amrit Sarovar Yojana of the Central Government in which 75 ponds are to be developed and new ponds are to be constructed in each district so that the ground water level can be increased and avoid water crisis in future.
Till now a total of 96 ponds have been identified by the district administration under this scheme, he also asked for new proposals.
