Jamshedpur, July 24: Nibha Devi, a resident of Dimna Road, Mango, is earning a livelihood for herself and her family by driving an e-rickshaw. Just two years ago, Nibha was a homemaker. With the help of the self-help organization ‘Roshni,’ she received training in driving an e-rickshaw and soon started contributing to her family coffers.

This inspiring story of Nibha’s transformation has been shared by the ‘Let Me Breathe Electric Mobility Campaign: EV, Okay Please.’

Initially, she used to operate the e-rickshaw around the Jubilee Park area in the city. While she could earn up to Rs 1,200 per day, she could make a meagre amount of Rs 200 for her day’s slog.

Determined to change her financial condition, Nibha Devi took a loan and purchased a second-hand e-rickshaw. Now, she commutes passengers daily, covering distances of up to 8 kilometers from the stand to various locations in the city.

Nibha said, “My husband has been unemployed for several months. If I had not taken the training to operate the e-rickshaw, I do not know what our situation would have been today.” ‘Let Me Breathe’ Founder and CEO, Tamseel Husain stated that the organization’s aim was to familiarize people in India with electric vehicles (EV) through their Electric Mobility Campaign, ‘EV, Okay Please,’ and encourage them to adopt these sustainable alternatives.
