Demand at DC Office for unlocking Kadma ECC Flats gate

Jamshedpur, July 24: Residents of Kadma ECC Flats staged a protest at the DC office on Monday with the support of Congress. The demonstration was led by Dharmendra Sonkar, the Executive (Urban) President of East Singhbhum District Congress.

Earlier, there were two gates In the Kadma ECC Flats (Residential Colony) that provided convenient access to the residents. However, Tata Steel UISL (formerly JUSCO) closed one of the gates, leading to increased congestion for those using the other gate. The closure of Gate Number 2, near Sati Ghat and Marine Drive, had resulted in extra traffic pressure, especially during the movement of school children studying at Kerala Public School.

Dharmendra Sonkar stated, “The closure of one gate has created potential risks for accidents and emergencies, causing inconvenience to the residents.  All residents of the flats are employees of Tata Steel. During office hours and school timings, the road becomes crowded, posing a significant risk to the safety of the children. Moreover, the division of the road near the gate can lead to accidents due to increased noise from vehicles coming from both sides.”

He urged the authorities to remove the blockade set up by JUSCO near the Shani Mandir and take appropriate measures to address the situation. Congress leader Bablu Jha and other Congress members and flat residents participated in the protest. (w/gsd)
