Jamshedpur, Sep 28: Dhalbhum sub divisional officer (SDO) Sandeep Kumar Meena paid a visit to various river ghats across the city and reviewed the ongoing arrangements being made for the immersion of idols after Dussehra.
The SDO visited Swarnarekha Ghat, Pandey Ghat, Kapali Ghat and Domuhani Ghat and took stock of cleanliness work. He was accompanied by the officials of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) and Tata Steel UISL. He also inspected the approach roads leading to the ghats.
The SDO directed the officials concerned to ensure availability of ambulance, professional divers, life jackets and other necessary arrangements for safety of puja committee members and others at immersion venues. He said the ghats were being cleaned and illuminated for the immersion. A platform would be there for announcements at the ghats, he said.
According to the SDO, “All puja committees have been asked to ensure timely immersion of idols to avoid any inconveniences or law and order situation. Special vigil would be kept on hooligans and tipplers. Puja organizers have been asked to provide us with the list of volunteers.”
The SDO was accompanied by the Special Officer of JNAC Sanjay Kumar, DSP Traffic Kamal Kishore, Captain Dhananjay Mishra of Tata Steel UISL, members of Central Durga Puja Committee, representatives of Tata Steel and City Manager of JNAC.
