Jamshedpur: DSWO inspects Observation Home, reviews facilities

Jamshedpur, Nov 24: District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) of East Singhbhum visited the Observation Home and Children’s Home for children in conflict with law on Thursday and reviewed facilities available to them.

During the inspection, a total of 90 juvenile inmates were present at the Observation Home while 22 children were found at Children’s Home. The DSWO spoke to children and discussed about their various needs and day to day activities, sources said.

The DSWO was informed that a room was under construction for the purpose of setting up a library for the juveniles. Besides, a dining room is being renovated, said the officials.

The inmates were studying in the class room during the DSWO’s arrival. The DSWO said the menu at the Observation Home and the Children’s Home should be improved immediately as the diet funds for the children had been increased.
