Jamshedpur: Dowry death reported in Parsudih

Jamshedpur, June 24: A 42 year-old woman, identified as Ruby Devi, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her house at Govindpur Bajrang Tola under Parsudih police station area on Thursday. Her parents accused her husband, Sitaram Kamat and her in-laws of having killed Ruby. They said Ruby’s body was hung from the ceiling by the in-laws after murder.

Madho Prasad Rai, father of the deceased, lodged an FIR against Sitaram and his family members on charges of killing Ruby for dowry. He said Ruby was married in the year 2003. Soon after her marriage, Ruby’s in-laws started torturing her for dowry. Ruby often called her parents and informed them about the torture inflicted upon her.

According to Rahul Kumar, officer in-charge of Parsudih police station, “We are investigating the incident. The accused persons would be arrested soon.”
