Jamshedpur Doctors team defeats Mango Manmouji by nine wickets in Media Cup

 

Jamshedpur, Jan 30: The Jamshedpur Doctor Cricket Association (JDCA) team secured a dominant nine-wicket victory over Mango Manmouji in the third-day match of the Media Cup 2025, organized by the Press Club of Jamshedpur. The exciting encounter took place on Thursday, where Mango Manmouji won the toss and opted to bat first.

Batting first, Mango Manmouji managed to score 72 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Prashant Singh was the standout performer for the team, playing a brilliant knock of 42 runs. However, the total proved insufficient as JDCA displayed exceptional batting in their chase.

JDCA comfortably reached the target in just 6.1 overs, losing only one wicket. Dr. Aaron led the charge with a match-winning innings of 38 runs, ensuring an easy victory for his team.

After the match, the runner-up team, Mango Manmouji, and the winning team, JDCA, were honored with trophies. Team captain and dermatologist Dr. R. Kumar praised the Press Club for successfully organizing the Media Cup for the past 18 years and expressed hope for such tournaments to continue in the future.

Several dignitaries attended the match, including former Press Club President B Srinivas, senior journalist Devendra Singh, General Secretary Vikas Srivastav, Vice Presidents Sumit Jha and Rakesh Singh, Joint Secretaries Ved Prakash Gupta and Amit Tiwari, Treasurer Gangadhar Pandey, and former General Secretary Shyam Jha. Other attendees included Jitendra Kumar, Priyaranjan, Chandrashekhar, Manpreet Singh, Jiya Singh, and Parmeshwar Gorai.

The next match of the tournament will take place on January 31 between Press Club Team Bistupur Bemisal and Co-operative College Team.
