Jamshedpur, May 25: A delegation of Fair Price Shop Dealers’ Association (FPSDA), East Singhbhum, under the joint leadership of District President Mohan Saw Paras and District General Secretary Pramod Gupta met MLA Saryu Rai at his Bistupur office and acquainted him with the problems being faced by the dealers and beneficiaries due to the new network rules enforced by Food, Public Distribution and Consumers Affairs Department with the faltering 2G network.
The district FPSDA requested MLA Saryu Roy to find a way out of the catch-22 situation that the FPS dealers and beneficiaries were facing due to the new version 5.3 in the e-posh machines. They urged the legislator to relax the new version 5.3 e-posh machines so that the ration could be distributed by the dealers to the beneficiaries as was being done earlier.
MLA Saryu Rai talked to the departmental minister on this issue and assured to solve the problem. According to the demand letter submitted by the Dealers Association to MLA Saryu Rai, the Department of Food Supplies, Consumer Affairs, Jharkhand Government had ordered the distribution of ration by the 5.3 e-posh method that required different finger prints for delivery of different ration commodities to a beneficiary.
Mohan saw Paras said, “Due to this new method, ration distribution system has come to a standstill in the entire Jharkhand state. Till date, the ration distribution for the month of April has not been completed. In fact, the situation is such that ration supplies are not reaching the FPS dealers on time. This factor is behind the state department of Food Supplies, Consumer Affairs resorting to extension of scheduled time repeatedly. In fact, rations for the month of May is yet to reach the dealers.” to which the extension of time is being done by the department time and again. The ration for the month of May has not reached the dealers till date. Office bearers of the Dealers Association attributed this chaotic state of affairs to the new norms that were creating problems for the dealers as well as the beneficiaries. They stated that the situation was at a point of dealer-beneficiary animosity. The district FPSDA delegation that met MLA Saryu Roy at his office included Kailash Agarwal, Rajkumar Thakur, Ajay Kumar Singh, Niraj Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Krishna Sahu, Satyanarayan Rajak, Md Firoz and Md Mahfouz.
