Jamshedpur: The Bodam police successfully identified the woman whose body they recovered from Dimna Lake on Sunday evening. Authorities identified the deceased as 43-year-old Sanju Sahu, the wife of Devanand Sahu and a resident of Sonari Kumharpara.
The body was recovered around 4:30 PM near a popular picnic spot at Dimna Lake. A purse found near the body contained an Aadhaar card, three SIM cards, cash, and other personal belongings, which allowed officers to confirm her identity quickly. Because the discovery took place at a crowded recreational area, a large crowd of onlookers gathered, leading to a period of brief chaos and commotion at the site.
Police have taken custody of the body and transported it to the morgue for a post-mortem examination. Officials stated that they can only disclose the exact cause of death once they receive the formal medical report. At this stage, investigators have not yet determined whether the death resulted from an accident, suicide, or foul play.
The Bodam police continue to investigate all possible angles and remain in the process of contacting the woman’s family members to gather more information about her final hours.
