Jamshedpur: Devotees perform rituals on second Monday of Shravan

Jamshedpur, July 17: As the auspicious month of Shravan unfolds, devotees across the city came together in full fervour to observe the sacred customs on the second Monday of the holy month. Shravan, also known as the month of Lord Shiva, holds immense significance in Hindu mythology and is dedicated to deepening one’s spiritual connection.

Shiva temples located at Jugsalai, Bistupur, Sakchi were abuzz with devotees, who performed rituals with devotion.

On this special occasion, throngs of devotees gathered at temples, riverbanks, and sacred sites to offer their heartfelt prayers and perform various rituals. The atmosphere was imbued with devotion and reverence, as worshippers sought blessings, inner peace, and spiritual growth.

The holy month of Shravan also holds specific significance for married women who observe ‘Solah Somvar Vrat’ (fasting on sixteen Mondays) for the well-being of their families and seeking conjugal bliss. The occasion saw married women dressed in vibrant attire, adorned with beautiful jewellery, and performing the rituals with utmost dedication.
