Jamshedpur, March 29: Seraikela-Kharsawan police here claimed to have cracked the mystery behind the murder of Adityapur-based transporter Debu Das by arresting two contract killers. They also confiscated a country-made pistol used in the murder.
The accused killers were identified as Debashish Das and Mahavir Das, both residents of Mirudih under RIT police station area. This was informed here on Tuesday by Seraikela-Kharsawan SP Anand Prakash at a press conference. He said Debu Das was killed following a well-laid out conspiracy. Several hardcore criminals had conspired to kill Debu Das following a rivalry with him in the business of sand and scrap.
“Debu Das was a history-sheeter who had recently entered the illegal trade of sand and scrap. Due to his growing influence in the business, his rivals decided to remove him from their path once and for all. They gave money and arms to Debashish and Mahavir to carry out their plan,” said the SP.
The SP said police had also confiscated a mobile phone and one motorcycle used in the crime.
A team led by Adityapur SHO Alok Dubey is searching for the conspirators of Debu Das murder case. All remaining accused would be in police net soon, said the SP.
