Jamshedpur: BJP State President Aditya Sahu visited Himanshu Singh’s residence at Shantinagar in Adityapur on Saturday to express solidarity with the grieving family members. Sahu also spoke with the family members of Pratyush Kumar at DD Bar in Bistupur, Jamshedpur
Senior leaders, including former ministers Amar Kumar Bauri and Bhanu Pratap Shahi, and the BJP district presidents of Jamshedpur and Seraikela-Kharsawan accompanied Sahu, who met Himanshu’s father, offered his condolences to the grieving family, and assured them that the party would stand by them in their legal fight until justice is served.
High-Level Probe and Legal Actions Demanded
During the visit, Sahu spoke with the father and uncle of Pratyush over the phone to express his desire to visit their home. The family members informed him that they are currently in Kolkata for Pratyush’s medical treatment and suggested meeting in Ranchi at a later date.
Addressing the media, the BJP leaders criticized the state government’s handling of the case. BJP leaders warned that they are prepared to file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) demanding a CBI probe into the incident if necessary. BJP leaders also plan to meet Jharkhand governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar to apprise him of the deteriorating law and order situation and demand a high-level investigation.
The leaders expressed outrage that no criminal cases have been filed against the police officers on duty. They alleged that the police are primarily at fault, as the assailants dragged the victims out of a police jeep and attacked them with sharp weapons right in front of the officers.
“The police registered an FIR against DD Bar operator and BJP leader Neeraj Singh purely to divert attention from the core issue,” said Sahu. He emphasized that Singh runs the establishment in compliance with the law. Sahu added that while running a legitimate business is not a crime, the BJP will raise no objections if the police take action based on actual evidence of complicity in the murder. However, they will not tolerate arbitrary targeting to shield police negligence.
