Jamshedpur DC seeks corporate support for TB eradication

Jamshedpur, July 12: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner cum President of Indian Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum, convened a meeting of corporate houses, social workers, patrons and members of Indian Red Cross Society at DC Office on Tuesday.

As part of the Union Health Ministry initiative which has entrusted the work of Tuberculosis eradication in the country to the Indian Red Cross Society, and the East Singhbhum district being selected in the State of Jharkhand, the meeting seek generous support from the corporate houses in the city and social workers to help fund the project so that the affected TB patients in the district are catered to.

While the TB patients will be provided with nutritious food along with requisite medicines, they will also be monitored regularly by the family members and neighbours.    

DC Vijaya Jadhav exhorted all the members present at the meeting to help the cause generously so that the project could be taken to its logical conclusion.  She has also apprised those present about various ways through which the TB affected people could be helped.

Representatives of the corporate houses and Patrons and Committee members of Red Cross Society have assured to fund the project and sought ways to extend support.  Bijay Kumar Singh, Hony Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum, informed that this project will commence from 1^st August 2022 and a communication will be sent  to all detailing the requirements to incorporate in the kit to be provided to the patients.

In the meeting, representatives from Tata Steel Foundation, Anitesh Pandey from Tata Motors, Dr Jujhar Manjhi, Civil Surgeon, Dr Mrutyunjay Dhawaria, District TB Officer, East Singhbhum, Balmukund Goel, Vice-President, Indian Red Cross Society, Vikas Singh, Asif Mehmood, noted industrialists and others were present.
