Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi chaired a crucial review meeting on Wednesday at the Collectorate Auditorium to assess the progress of key power sector initiatives — the Chief Minister Jharkhand Ujjwal Yojana and the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The meeting witnessed the presence of Project Director ITDA Dipankar Chaudhary, Executive Engineers from Jamshedpur, Mango, and Ghatsila electricity divisions, and representatives of the implementing agencies.
During the review, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that no village or tola in the district should remain without electricity. He instructed officials to fast-track electrification work and meet all deadlines, particularly in the eight remote villages identified for pending connections.
“Identifying all eligible beneficiaries under the Jharkhand Ujjwal Yojana and providing them with free electricity connections is a top priority,” Satyarthi asserted. He also directed officials to extend coverage to newly emerged settlements, especially in urban expansion zones.
Further, the Deputy Commissioner called for increased awareness and promotion of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, encouraging public participation and simplifying the application process.
Key components of RDSS — including transformer installation, overhead wire strengthening, metering, and improvement in consumer services — were reviewed. Satyarthi underscored the importance of maintaining quality standards and ensuring safety during all works. He instructed the implementing agency to submit weekly progress reports and complete all pending tasks within the stipulated time frame.
In a firm directive, the DC also asked for swift resolution of consumer complaints, underlining that visible improvements in service delivery are essential for public trust in government schemes.
