Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajiv Ranjan has ordered health officials to make sure every single childbirth in the district takes place safely in a hospital. Speaking at a monthly health review meeting, the DC emphasized that safe motherhood and better healthcare must be the administration’s top priority.
He told officials to launch awareness campaigns and ensure that health workers are always present at local anganwadi and sub-centres. Ranjan warned that staff members neglecting their duty will face serious action.
Focus on Child Vaccines and Malnutrition
The DC reviewed several key health programs, focusing closely on routine vaccines and child nutrition. He ordered workers to track down children who missed their regular vaccines and get them vaccinated immediately. To fight malnutrition, he asked the Health Department and childcare teams (ICDS) to work together to identify weak children and treat them at special care centres.
Better Health Facilities in Villages
The meeting also covered steps to control common diseases like Dengue, Malaria, TB, leprosy, and anaemia. The DC ordered stronger medical screening, testing, and treatment facilities, especially in remote and rural villages. He emphasized that government health benefits must reach the poorest people in the district and told officials to address public complaints without delay.
