Jamshedpur DC inspects EVM warehouse at Golmuri

Jamshedpur, April 1: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner (DC) cum District Returning Officer Vijaya Jadhav inspected the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) warehouse at Golmuri-cum-Jugsalai block office on Friday. She examined the EVMs and the facilities at the warehouse situated behind the Sadar Hospital under Karandih panchayat.

The DC examined the seal at the gate of the warehouse and sought a update on the security arrangements in place to protect the EVMs. She said the guidelines of the Election Commission of India regarding the upkeep of EVMs should be strictly followed.

The DC sought miscellaneous details such as the total number of EVMs. The District Panchayati Raj Officer informed the DC that 6500 EVMs were ready to be used in the elections, sources said.
