Jamshedpur, Sep 29: Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL), a flagship initiative of the Atal Innovation Mission of the Government of India, to cultivate an innovative mindset among high school students, was inaugurated at DBMS Kadma High School, Farm Area in Jamshedpur.
Present as the chief guest Suraj Kumar, Deputy Commissioner (East Singhbhum) inaugurated the lab in presence of B Chandrashekar (Jt. Chairperson, Finance D.B.M.S. BOT) , Lalitha Chandrashekhar (Joint Chairperson, Administration D.B.M.S. BOT and President of the School ) and Principal Gurpreet Bhambra.
Atal Tinkering Lab is an approach of the central government to create an environment of innovation, creativity amongst the students.
Suraj Kumar appreciated the school’s endeavor to inculcate and develop the scientific temperament among the students of the school under the guidance of Victor Anthony (ATL Incharge) and his team.
After the inauguration, the chief guest was shown the award winning inventions like the smart dustbin and other models like the 3D Printer, IOT (Internet of Technology) Car made by the students which indeed highlighted the promise to nurture neoteric innovators and empower them to lead India.
One of the models – Smart dustbin was appreciated by the Deputy Commissioner. He suggested to take a prototype of this model and assured his assistance for this project. The inauguration was a grand success with the support and co-operation of the members of the Managing Committee in the fruitful completion of the lab and achieving the prestigious Cyber Smart Award by NITI Aayog.
Also present were Uma Ramani, Secretary, DBMS BOT, Anita Ramkrishna Joint Secretary, Bhuvana Krishnan Treasurer, Meena Bugli, Academic Advisor along woth Vice-Principals Suparna Roy and S. Shireen. Presidents and Principals of all other schools run by D.B.M.S. Trust were also present.
