Jamshedpur DC holds Janta Darbar, directs timely action

Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal convened a Janta Darbar at the Collectorate office on Tuesday, where he personally heard grievances from local citizens and took immediate steps to address their concerns.

The event saw a steady stream of complainants who submitted written memorandums on a wide range of issues, including Kendriya Vidyalaya enrollment, non-registration of FIRs by police stations, pending salary payments, old age pensions, compassionate appointments, land and shop disputes, encroachment of public roads, and issues related to various government schemes such as the Maiya Samman Yojana and housing benefits.

Concerns also included disputes over gym management, delays in road construction, problems with private school admissions, and serious complaints such as dowry harassment and assault. Citizens highlighted critical administrative and service delivery gaps, expecting swift intervention from the district leadership.

The Deputy Commissioner patiently heard each case, providing on-the-spot resolutions for several matters. Where immediate action was not feasible, he forwarded the complaints to the relevant departmental officers and issued strict instructions for timely follow-up.

He assured the public that each application would be reviewed with due diligence, and appropriate action would be taken after thorough verification.

This outreach is part of the district administration’s ongoing effort to foster transparent, responsive, and citizen-centric governance. By holding regular public hearings like the Janta Darbar, the administration is ensuring that the voices of even the most marginalized citizens are heard and acted upon.

Officials from various departments were also present during the hearing to take immediate notes and begin the resolution process.
