Jamshedpur: A detailed discussion was held on the functioning of the Chhota Govindpur Water Supply Scheme, which currently ensures regular drinking water supply in 21 panchayats and partial supply in one panchayat. For smoother operations, a new operating committee has been formed as per departmental provisions, aimed at making the system more effective and transparent.
The review took place during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi at North Sarjamda Panchayat Bhawan. The session was attended by Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi, District Council President Bari Murmu, Vice President Pankaj, District Council Member Dr. Paritosh Singh, Block Pramukh, Mukhiyas of 21 panchayats, Panchayat Samiti members, ward members, representatives of social organizations and a large number of villagers.

Apart from water supply, villagers highlighted other key concerns, including non-functional street lights, absence of a boundary wall at a school in Madhya Haludbani Panchayat, lack of toilets and drinking water facilities, road repair, and other civic issues.
The Deputy Commissioner directed that all problems raised should be listed and submitted to the BDO, Jamshedpur Sadar. He instructed officials to take immediate action on issues that can be resolved quickly while ensuring timely redressal of others.
Satyarthi said that the district administration is committed to addressing the basic problems of rural areas on a priority basis. He also appealed to public representatives and villagers to extend their cooperation and suggestions for effective implementation of development works.
The meeting was also attended by CO Jamshedpur Sadar Manoj Kumar, BDO Sumit Prakash, Executive Magistrate-cum-DPO Sudipt Raj, Executive Engineer Sunil Kumar, and other concerned officials.
