Jamshedpur, March 25: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav here on Saturday held a meeting with the Pesh-e-Imam of the city and the presidents and general secretaries of various mosques of the city in view of Ramnavami and Eid celebrations.
The DC appealed to those present to cooperate with the district administration to maintain law and order during the festivals. She said the religious leaders had great influence over their community and hence they should spread the message of peace and harmony among one and all.
The DC appealed to all citizens to celebrate the festival while respecting the sentiments of others. All intellectuals should ensure at their level that there is no unnecessary gathering on the roads or near religious places during the Ram Navami immersion procession.
Also present at the meeting, Piyush Sinha, Sub Divisional Officer of Dhalbhum, said that people of all religions should celebrate the festivals with enthusiasm and help maintain law and order. He said youths should be given counseling to abstain from doing stunts on bike and engage in hooliganism. He said that such elements would be monitored by the administration and would be dealt with strictly. ADM Law and Order Deepu Kumar said that the citizens should promptly inform the nearest police station or higher authority of the administration about any sensitive or untoward incident. He appealed to one and all to cooperate with the administration in identifying unwanted elements belonging to any religion or community.
