Jamshedpur, Feb 15: A speeding truck ran over a cyclist, identified as Raju Patro, 25, resident of Kumrum Basti, near Yash Plaza on the National Highway 33 under Mango police station area here on Wednesday. The truck driver fled the scene after leaving the vehicle on the spot. Local residents informed police about the incident.

Police sent the body to MGM Medical College for postmortem examination. Sources said the mishap occurred when the deceased was on his way to Dimna Chowk. The truck which was also going towards Dimna Chowk knocked down Raju and ran him over. Police said the incident was caused by reckless driving. They said the incident was being investigated.
