Jamshedpur, July 20: Cyber criminals robbed on Ziaul Mustafa Khan of Cross Road No 10, Zakirnagar, of Rs 1.63 lakh on 19th July last.
According to the police complaint lodged by the victim at Azadnagar PS, the culprits called him in the name of updating his SBI credit card around 10.47 am and asked him to download Anydesk App. After downloading the App, Khan shared his nine digit ID and other confidential information with the unknown caller. Soon thereafter, cash was withdrawn from his account in five instalments, Khan told police.
Sonari woman loses Rs 74,000 to cyber fraud
One Savita Nagrajan of Sonari lost Rs 74,000 to cyber frauds after downloading Team Viewer App as directed by them on 19th July last.
In the police complaint, Nagrajan said she had received a WhatsApp message informing her about the electricity bill dues. She was asked to pay the bill with fine and told her electricity connection would be discontinued in case she failed to so. When she called back on the said anonymous number, the caller asked her to download the aid App and later sent her a request and asked her to pay the amount. Shortly thereafter, the culprits withdrew Rs 49,000 and Rs 25,000 from her bank account in two attempts.
