Jamshedpur Crime: Varsha Patel’s sister, husband examined as witnesses

Jamshedpur, Sep 12: Two witnesses, Jaya Patel and her husband Shashi Mishra, were examined in the Varsha Patel murder case of Bistupur in the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Anil Kumar Mishra on Monday. They said Varsha Patel was murdered by Assistant Sub Inspectof of Police (ASI) and later dumped by him near a pond close to IS&WP company in Telco.

Shashi Mishra said he knew Dharmendra, the accused since nine to 10 months before the incident. He said the accused used to torture Varsha by threatening to make her objectionable pictures viral. He said he had gone to meet Varsha at her Bistupur residence on 12^th November last and was told by her neighbours that she had gone out with Dharmendra on 11^th November around 9.30 pm. Shashi also went to Varsha’s house on 13^th November but found it locked.
