Jamshedpur crime: Minor’s rapist arrested from Gudabanda

Jamshedpur, April 24: Police here arrested one Anukul Mahato in connection with the rape of a 13 year-old girl in Gudabanda.

According to police, the accused was caught on the basis of a tip-off. Cops have recovered the victim’s undergarments from the house of the accused.

Mahato had escaped his house after an FIR was lodged against him with the Gudabanda police station.

Mahato had allegedly raped the minor in his house on 21^st April when the latter had come to play with his daughter. He took the girl to a room and raped her. Later, he threatened her with dire consequences before letting her go, police said.

The minor told her parents about the incident when her health deteriorated. She was taken to government hospital for medical examination and a case was registered against the accused.
