Jamshedpur, June 2: After breaching the 1,000-mark for the past few weeks, the number of daily Covid-19 cases on Wednesday dived to 52— an all-time low during the second wave of the novel Coronavirus outbreak. Earlier on April 8, 56 cases were reported in the city.
The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.
Jamshedpur clocked the lowest daily Covid case total in 55 days with 52 fresh infections. It also registered 2 coronavirus-related deaths.
The overall death toll in the East Singhbhum has reached 1027 and the total cases 50296.It appears to be early signs that the more dangerous Covid wave is receding from the city. The Steel City’s case positivity rate has also dropped to 0.70 percent.
The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.70 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 7000 tests in the last 24 hours. The Steel City tested 7475 samples, of which, 52 turned out positive while 189 people recovered from the Covid-19 on Wednesday, June 2.
Meanwhile, 2 deaths were recorded in the same duration. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.70 per cent, the government data showed.
The recovery rate has climbed to 96.18% while the active cases have come down to 944.

City reported 2 deaths on Wednesday, while district’s positive cases tally has mounted to 50296. According to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on Wednesday 2 fatalities were due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours. The death toll has climbed to 1027.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 350477 test per million in the district.
As per the records of health department out of 7475 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 52 were found positive.
Over 7000 COVID-19 tests, including 210 RT-PCR and 6871 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.
The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 96.18% while the mortality rate is 2.04%.
So far in Jamshedpur 937749 samples have been collected out of which 932970 have been tested and 882674 have turned out to be negative.
