Jamshedpur, June 24: In a significant development in the alleged fraud case involving nearly Rs 1 crore, the Court of the Second Additional District and Sessions Judge, Jamshedpur, has once again denied anticipatory bail to the accused, Sachidanand Prasad and Suresh Prasad. The anticipatory bail petition filed by the duo in ABP No. 728/26 was rejected for the second time.
The case pertains to allegations of financial fraud involving former directors of Elite Hospital, now known as Spand Hospital, located on NH-Dimna-Pardih Road in Mango. Renowned cardiologist Dr. Santosh Kumar Gupta had accused the former directors of cheating him of nearly Rs 1 crore.
Investigating authorities have already submitted a chargesheet before the court through Ulidih Police Station, framing charges against the accused under Sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
The matter was heard in detail on June 22, following which the court reserved its order. On June 24, the court pronounced its decision, dismissing the anticipatory bail plea filed by both accused persons.
The prosecution was represented by advocates Rajeev Kumar Sinha and Shweta Sinha, while advocate K.M. Singh appeared on behalf of the accused.
Legal observers view the order as an important development in the case. The rejection of anticipatory bail for a second time indicates that the court found the allegations, supporting materials, and overall nature of the case sufficiently serious to deny relief at this stage. The order is expected to have a bearing on the subsequent course of judicial proceedings in the matter.
