Jamshedpur: A tragic road accident near Tatanagar Railway station on Saturday night, claimed the lives of a couple from Parsudih. Despite wearing helmets, they were crushed by a speeding dumper (JH 05CY 2776) and died on the spot.
According to reports, the couple was traveling on a bike (JH 05M 1729) when the accident took place near the turn leading to Kendriya Vidyalaya, ahead of the Railway SP’s office. The dumper, which was operating in the area despite an 8 pm no-entry restriction, ran over them, resulting in instant fatalities.

Following the incident, enraged locals gathered at the accident site and staged a protest, blocking the road to demand strict action against reckless driving by heavy vehicles.

Frequent accidents in Jamshedpur due to the unchecked movement of large vehicles have raised serious concerns over road safety. The authorities have yet to respond to the growing demand for stricter regulations and enforcement to prevent such tragedies.
Earlier, on February 12, a father and his daughter lost their lives on the spot while his teenage son sustained serious injuries in a tragic road accident at Jemco under the Telco police station area. The accident occurred when the Scooty they were riding on was hit by a speeding heavy vehicle near a roundabout at Jemco.

Such accidents should be taken seriously by the administration of the city. Strict action should be taken
