Jamshedpur, April 20: A five member team from New Delhi visited East Singhbhum to review efforts being taken here to prevent Covid-19. It comprised Dr Suman Kandulna of World Health Organization, Dr Gajendra Singh of UNICEF, Dr Hemant Mahajan of ICMR, Dr Sandhya Mishra of JSI and Dr Sachin Gupta of USAID, sources said.
The team visited both rural and urban areas during its two day visit and noted details about the progress of Covid vaccination across the district. It conducted a surprise inspection of the vaccine centre being run at Sadar Hospital, Parusidh. Seeing the few number of people coming to take vaccine, the team inquired about the reason and was told this was so because the majority of people had been vaccinated. Thereafter, the team went to St Joseph School in Mosabani and reviewed the vaccination process. The team will be submitting its report to the Deputy Commissioner tomorrow and suggest ways to remove loopholes if any.
According to Dr Sahir Pal, ACMO, East Singhbhum, the team members spoke to villagers and tried to know their take on getting the jab.
