Jamshedpur Congress Burns PM’s Effigy Over Bengal Poll Violence

Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum District Congress Committee burned an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Sakchi Roundabout on Thursday. The protest targeted the central government’s handling of election-related violence in West Bengal.

District President of Congress, Parvinder Singh, accused the Union Home Ministry of failing to maintain law and order during the polls. He cited attacks on opposition offices and argued that central forces should not be utilized for electoral advantage. Drawing parallels to unrest in Manipur, the Congress leader stated the party would oppose similar developments in West Bengal.

The demonstration included slogans against the BJP-led government and demands for immediate intervention to halt regional violence. Protesters called for accountability to restore public faith in democratic institutions. Senior party functionaries, including members of the Youth Congress and Mahila Morcha, attended the demonstration at the Sakchi intersection.
