Jamshedpur: Congress demands cleaning of Chhath ghats

Jamshedpur, Oct 18: Congress leader Dr Ajoy Kumar has demanded cleaning of all Chhath ghats across the city. He has written to the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav in this regard and demanded that weed harvesting machine should be pressed into service for the purpose.

Kumar said the Ranchi Municipal Corporation used weed harvesting machine to clean various ponds and other water bodies in the state Capital ahead of Chhath. He said manual cleaning of the water bodies in the city would consume much time and effort.

Congress leaders met senior district administration officials in this regard and demanded timely cleaning of the water bodies.
