Jamshedpur, May 30: A high-level delegation from the East Singhbhum District Congress Committee, led by District President Anand Bihari Dubey, met Sudhir Kumar, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of the Electricity Department, to raise pressing public concerns related to electricity services in Jamshedpur. The delegation submitted a detailed memorandum outlining 13 key issues affecting local residents.

During the meeting, Dubey emphasized several critical problems, including the presence of dilapidated electrical wires and poles, the urgent need to upgrade transformer capacities, and the necessity to shift to cable-based electricity supply for safety and efficiency. He also called for a more sensitive and responsive approach from electricity department employees in addressing public grievances.

The areas facing repeated load shedding including Birsanagar, Bagunnagar, Bagunhatu, Baridih Basti, Premnagar, and Laxminagar, were highlighted as high-priority zones requiring immediate attention. Dubey urged the department to hold the maintenance agencies accountable and ensure that tree branches near electrical wires were trimmed to prevent frequent short circuits, especially at year-end.

Concerns were also raised regarding faulty or inconsistent billing practices by private agencies, which deprive consumers of government-provided benefits. Another point of concern was the unused 33 KVA cable line installed during the construction of NH-33 in Dhalbhumgarh, which has not yet been activated for electricity supply.

The DGM assured the delegation that all raised issues would be taken seriously, and departmental officers would conduct inspections to initiate appropriate corrective measures.

The Congress delegation included KK Shukla, Rajkishore Yadav, Shafi Ahmed Khan, Rajneesh Singh, Arun Kumar Singh, Amar Kumar Mishra, Suresh Dhari, Sunita Tirkey, Munna Mishra, Harihar Prasad, Munna Singh, Ranjan Singh, Sushil Ghosh, Ranjit Singh, Sunny Singh, among others.

The information, provided via a press statement, was issued by Sanjay Singh Azad, Vice President of the District Congress Committee.
