Jamshedpur, Sept 14: A public hearing was conducted by Jharkhand State Food Commission chairperson Himanshu Shekhar Choudhary and memberShabnam Parveen on Thursday.
In the public hearing programme, elderly Om Tiwari complained about not getting the ration card and another complainant complained about not getting the benefits of Matru Vandana Yojana. Sameeran Mahato, also related to ration, and a group of PDS dealers from Patmada complained that rice and wheat have not been given, but door to door delivery has been done.
The complainants were assured by the chairperson about appropriate action. The chairperson took information about the formation of Vigilance Committee by the District Supply Department and instructed all PDS dealers to compulsorily put up information.
The schemes of the District Supply Office, District Social Welfare, Education Department and Health Department were reviewed by the Chairman of the State Food Commission.
He gave instruction to supply food to the beneficiaries in appropriate quantity in the prescribed time period in all PDS centers and to provide quality nutritious food as per the list in all the schools, Anganwadi centers and malnutrition treatment centers and to publish the weekly list in all the Anganwadi centers and schools.
During this, chairperson directed the concerned officials to make people aware by giving wide publicity about the departmental schemes and to provide the benefits of government welfare schemes to the person standing at the last rung.
