Welcome initiative by senior citizen: Saryu Roy
Jamshedpur, Jan 15: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy Sunday lauded the initiative taken by KS Upadhyaya, 81, resident of Sonari, against pollution in and around Sonari Domuhani.
In a statement issued here today, Roy said, “A senior citizen has taken such a major initiative. The burning of garbage at Sonari Domuhani has long been a source of pollution and a public issue. District administration and state government have continuously ignored this problem. This has entailed citizen initiative.”
The legislator went on to add, “There are numerous examples where administration, police and municipality are not discharging their responsibilities and not following the legal provisions. In some cases, they are not even following the directives of the government. In such situation, public initiative is the only option left.”
