Jamshedpur: Grand Tusu Fair at Gopal Maidan on Jan 21

Jamshedpur, Jan 15:  At a review meeting of the Jharkhandvasi Ekta Manch (JEM) chaired by Astik Mahto, the Chief Convener of the organization held at Nirmal Bhawan on Sunday, it was decided that due to the COVID-19 wave, the Tusu Fair could not be organized during the last two years, would be arranged this year, on Saturday, January 21 at The Gopal Maidan in Bistupur. The details of the programme were reviewed at the meeting.

Jamshedpur MP and member of JEM, Bidyut Baran Mahto announced that as during the preceding years, on this occasion too prizes would be given to 11 winners in different events at the Mela. Prizes will be awarded in categories including Tusu, Chadel and ‘Budhi Gari Nach.’  Phanindra Mahato said that a certain amount of cash would be set aside as consolation prizes will be given as a consolation prize to all those who bring Goddess Tusu and Chadal to the fair.

Teams for handling different responsibilities for the smooth functioning of the Grand Tusu Fair were formed at the meeting. One such team constituted was for judging and selecting winning teams. JEM urged all citizens to participate in the Fair so that Jharkhand Unity was amply reflected. The JEM Tusu Mela review meeting was attended by, among others, Sukhdev Mahto, Bablu Mahto, Kamal Mahto, Seenu Rao, Jagdish Rao, Vijay Mahto, Ashok Mahto, Manoj Singh, Raju Baba, Narendra Mahto, Ashok Singh and Opa Singh.
