Jamshedpur, Sept 3: Preparations for Sharadiya Durga Puja 2025 gained momentum as the East Singhbhum Central Durga Puja Committee (CDPC) submitted a demand letter regarding idol immersion facilities. A 10-member delegation, led by Executive President Dharmendra Sonkar and General Secretary Lalan Yadav, met UCIL Narwa Pahar Pratishthan’s CSR Head and Mine Manager M.K. Singh.
The committee emphasized timely repair of Garra River Ghat at Narwa, installation of a lighting system with generators, repair of connecting roads, pruning of overhanging trees, and arrangements for security, drinking water, ambulance, and first aid support. Every year, around 35 public puja committees from Sundarnagar, Parsudih, Chhota-Bada Govindpur, and nearby villages immerse their idols at this ghat.
Local puja committees also sought pre-announcement of immersion dates and appointment of divers for safety. The Central Committee assured them of support and coordination with the district administration. The meeting ended on a positive note, with UCIL management promising to address all demands before Puja.
Special contributions in the meeting came from UCIL’s CSR officials D.N. Singh, Subroto Gope, Ghazia Hansda, K.S. Pal, and Central Committee leaders Pawan Upadhyay, S.K. Sharma, and Nandkishore Thakur.
