Three-day event begins Jan 6, Neeraj Shridhar to perform
Music Band, Dance, MasterChef, Antakshari lined up
Jamshedpur Carnival will be open to all and entry to Gopal Maidan will be free on all three days
Jamshedpur, Jan 3: After a brief hiatus due to the pandemic Covid, Jamshedpur Carnival at Gopal Maidan is back in action this New Year. Starting from January 6, the three-day carnival will witness band performances, dance performances, Sa Re Ga Ma – a vocal music competition, Master Chef Competition, Game Zones for children, mouth-watering food counters, and a final concluding performance by Neeraj Shridhar, the Bollywood celebrity artist. Organised jointly by Tata Steel and Tata Steel UISL, this three-day mega event will be held at Gopal Maidan from 6-8th January 2023.

Bollywood singer Neeraj Sridhar had last performed at the inter-school fest, Wheels-2015 organised by GET Club at Sumant Moolgaonkar Stadium.
From Punjabi songs ‘Main Tannu Samjhawan ki’ to ‘Prem ki Naiyya’ (Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani) and ‘Twist’ (Love Aaj Kal), he is known for his best performances. Known for his remixes Kya Soorat Hai, Woh Chali and Chod Do Anchal will make the audience dance to the tunes.

Organisers say that it is an ambitious initiative to bring the citizens of the city on a common platform and engage them in different activities. “The administration is also supporting our initiative and we plan to make it a grand event with added vibrant activities,” they said.

“We feel that Jamshedpur has great potential to organise festivals and boost tourism and post-Covid we are trying to create awareness amongst all stakeholders in the city to promote it,” orgainers said. They went on to add that simple event like this can provide just the encouragement a city needs to continue to keep our community healthy and help us to give this city of Jamshedpur a new experience this New Year.
As per the plans, Local Rock Band will perform on January 6 from 5:30 pm to 7:00pm followed by the performance of Swarathma Band from 7:30 pm to 9:00pm.
Day 2 (January 7) of the Carnival begins with Colours of India (Dance performances showcasing folk dances of states) from 5 pm to 7 pm and subsequently Sa Re Ga Ma (Musical Antakshari Competition) from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
On the concluding day (January 8) MasterChef competition will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. In the evening Rap Band will perform from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm followed by celebrity Bollywood singer Neeraj Shridhar’s performance from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.
Jamshedpur Carnival will be open to all and entry to Gopal Maidan will be free on all three days.
