Jamshedpur: Capital punishment demanded for Ankita’s killer

Jamshedpur, August 31: Sikh Dharma preacher Harvinder Singh Jamshedpuri, reacting to the murder of Ankita in Dumka contended that while the government propagated the cause of with the slogan, ‘Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao,’ then what steps were being taken by it to ensure protection of these daughters. He said that the matter required deep thinking and quick action.

Harvinder Singh Jamshedpuri said, “What happened to Ankita in Dumka is a heart-wrenching incident. There are a lot more ‘Ankitas’ who are running from puillar to post seeking justice. Once laws for protection of girls and women were enacted, they will feel a lot safer. The news of such incidents are being published almost every other day across the country. These are shameful incidents as women deserve the respect of every individual. Not less than capital punishment should be meted out to the propagator of the heinous crime that led to Ankita’s murder.”
